             The Guardian Angel

Among Angelic Powers, the Guardian Angel is that one which looks after each man, day and night. Few people think of the Guardian Angel. He is forgotten because they do not see his face. But if they thought that the Guardian Angel really exists and stands beside every son of God! We ought to be ashamed, for he is really forgotten and lost in the corner. When God created us, gave each of us a Guardian. In His Omnipotence and Omniscience, He comprehended human fragility, and knew that man needed a companion who could defend him, advise, and sustain him in the most difficult moments of his life. God foresaw that man, as a social creature, could not have been alone; he could have easily got discouraged in the difficulties and the solitude.

The Guardian Angel is a purest spirit, not contaminated from the sin, which took care of us the moment of our conception.

Many times, we happened to experience and get over perils, even in danger of death, and forgot to thank our Angel … How many times we have been able to resist some difficult temptations of the flesh, of hate, of revenge, of rebellion! Thank to the inspiration of this our dear Angel, we have got out of such terrible incubus.

Let’s learn to talk with him, to invoke him, and we’ll feel his fellowship, particularly in moments of solitude.

There are many episodes, which may be narrated about the Guardian Angels. How many Saints have long told about the gifts the Angel gives to the soul, which he takes care of! He has to conduct the soul to the divine tribunal, cleaned and well prepared to Paradise.

He is our servant. You have only to give him tasks, and he performs them perfectly. The Angel, being a spirit, does not fear contamination or long trails.  

He easily crosses mounts, cities and oceans. The matter is that man really forgets that his Angel is a good ambassador; he is a postman who does not need paper. I could narrate so many episodes I have been living during my life by means of my Guardian Angel’s help. For certain, it is needful to pray him, question him. He does not always answer, however, he stands listening to us. His hearing is intimate, and when you ask him something concerning your spirit, he responds only to those who invoke him with deep faith. It is enough to read the books of Saints to find much material talking about.

Angel of God, who are my Guardian, enlighten, preserve, sustain and lead me, who was committed to you by the Divine Mercy. Amen. 

Your wings’ moving is a mystery, but it is certain that You go far but You return later. You bring me with You without I noticing anything around me, to show me the Creator’s beauties. They are wonderful, marvellous, and admirable in every colour. Everything is made perfectly, and in the silence of night everything seems praying. Nature watches You and You watch her, and, sooner or later, You always see in her the face of her Creator: Lord of lords, the Creator of flowers, of stars, of all the firmament, of the sun, of the moon, the wind, the fire, the water, the grass. You observe also the deer, the stones, the little sheep, you feel all of them Your brothers and sisters, and I admire with You the world.

While climbing a mountain, I see in the morning him who cries and laments, and towards evening, even more, those who kill or despair. With You, dear and loved Custodian, I pray Good God He let me bring into Paradise, by a lovely smile, the penitent sinner. I feel near me Your fluttering wings that refresh my furrowed face, owing to the many sorrows that You know and that He, the Love, suffers in me, with You, for the souls. It is a spiritual suffering; it’s a Love paining. Are you hearing Him, the Lord? He is besides you; He seems caressing Your face!
