Addressed to a Prisoner

Dear Brother, who are closed in a little area to pay the pains of your failures and are waiting for that freedom you maybe don’t know when it will arrive, be consoled since there’s someone in this world who thinks of you and above all prays for you.

You don’t know us, but we are a group of Sisters who pray for those who are in difficulty.

Many times we think of you, though we ignore your name. We have been happy to address to you on this web site some hints of meditation to let you know that in the world there are many prisoners who are so more than you are. We all are sinners and in something we have failed little or much, but there are those who commit grave crimes. When one person is far from God feels the remorse of his conscience and I deeply believe that he feels worse than a prisoner is, since by the sin we lose the union with God, the will of living and living well, of doing good deeds. Anyway, be consoled since this life, though long, it’s indeed short, and at the end of our life there’ll be a judgment given not by men but by God.

If you recognize to have sinned and spoiled someone, then confess yourself! I think you’ll have the possibility of meeting with a Priest: certainly there’ll be a Chaplain.

Confess yourself, since when you’ll have get the forgiveness, you’ll be more free than the free men, and I would say, you are more lucky than them, since the Lord has given you the possibility of undergoing the pains of your misdeeds on this earth, so that, after your death, you could even avoid the Purgatory.

But, how can you accept and live these pains?

You must accept them in penance for your guilt, asking everyday and humbly the Lord for forgiveness for offending Him, since with your faults you have disobeyed the Law of His Commandments.

Dearest Brother, I’m near you and I recommend you to accept this life humbly, thinking that the Lord loves him who asks Him for pardon and becomes His friend. Think that He also, even though innocent, was condemned to death after being closed in a prison. Pray Jesus imprisoned that he may give you the strength and comfort in those difficult moments of discouragement. Say everyday the following prayer of the Prisoner that I wrote.

The Prisoner's prayer
