Retire yourself one moment into silence, and think about the profoundness of a spirit that abandons its body to enter into an unknown place waiting for him since the eternity.

Where will this place be, how like will it be? It is a placeeach of us has prepared during his lifetime trough his behaviour, in this earthly exile. Even though one tries to escape this realty, this is indeed real, very real.

Where is your father, your mother, your son who one day closed his eyes and did not open them anymore? Where your best friend with whom you blundered many times? Where are your loved ones? Where that poor man who did so many misdeeds to the people; the other one who self-murdered because weary of living or dissatisfied in sinning?

You do not see these persons anymore; anyway they are present around you, watch you, come next to you, and if they are eternally damned, they hate you for you have been an instrument for them to err by teaching obscene things, revenges, rebellions.

Other people pray for you. They, who have understood the meaning of eternity and how to live well, pray you could have to observe God’s law and give brothers by no means scandals, if they are even your sons, children. You may understand that God must not be cursed, for it is to Him that we owe everything: life, wealth and the daily providence. Our dead are looking us and waiting for our suffrage, a prayer to repose in peace, at least those who chose not to go to the hell as an eternal place.

Sometimes human mind tries to contest God’s operate, that God who is his factor, who created him, who created him free. Consequently it is not God who reproves man because he does not observe His law, but having created him free, man himself chooses his eternal place: peace’s one or that of desperation. All that is like this, for God is just.

God gives man on this world, the possibility of asking Him pardon after his fault, of kneel humbly before a man as him, a Priest who in his place, absolves him from his sins. So doing man has all the possibility to be converted, to improve, to enter one day into the Reign of eternal peace. But if he does not do this act of humility, he cannot absolutely contest God who does not open to him Heaven’s gates. In case He did it, He would be an unjust God.

God created man because He was thirsty for his love; He wanted his company. In fact, he gave all Himself for him up to give His Body and His Blood on the Cross. He, who believed in Him, felt in himself His power, His strength. He, who did not believe in Him felt weak, a poor weary of living man.

There are so many beautiful things on this world: one can do nothing but going in search of them, knowing how to find them to taste them with the Author of life, Christ the Lord.

Let us pray for our dead, in particular for those who loved us on earth, in order that they could guard our earthly path we still do not know how long it will be. Man, who makes all efforts to become a scientist, who wants to learn to do and build everything, unfortunately forgets that, while going the time, he becomes older, and arrives at the day of reckoning. Then he finds himself with empty hands. During his lifetime, he almost tried to investigate God’s mind: “It’s impossible I could not succeed in doing what He did!”

He forgot he is a creature not a creator, and that in this world he will not live eternally. Therefore, all that he gathered, bought for himself, for his improvement, his fame, he has to leave, maybe suddenly, very soon, just because he is not the owner of himself.

Man, doing so many things, yet good ones, must understand that this is not thanks to him, to his knowledge, but to God’s one, if he does well. It is certain, man who did much and will do more in future, will not prevent dying.

This makes each of us realise that life is beautiful not only because of a good salary, good dinners, forbidden entertainment, but essentially because one walks at the presence of the Lord in His Grace, that is with the spirit free from the sin.

Go to confession; find a good Priest and open your heart; you will see, forgiven your wrongs, that you will feel lighter and walk safer, without fears and troubles, for you will not be alone anymore, since God will be inside you.
