The
Priest has to have charity
God's priest, precious you will be to your brothers
if rich of charity.
Charity brings to the humility, to the heroism, to
the joy. The Priest who prays, accepts, donates himself, expands among his
brothers the perfume of his internal wealth: the charity.
The Priest of prayer is also always the Priest of
sacrifice. In the sacrifice there is not confrontation but filial abandonment
to the Wish of God, that always manifests him through the voice of the
Superior that can be or the Bishop or the Person responsible of the community
if you are a Religious.
Every day you rise the altar and repeat the Passion
and the Death of Christ: «This is My
Body, this is My Blood; do this in memory of Me» (from the Liturgy).
But which best memory, if not your example of life as
that of Christ? The words flee, but the Sacrifice of Christ renews him to
continue in your day the yes of the cross, that is the soul of the Saints, the
Martyrs' power, the shield of salvation for the one who wants to follow Him
who is the Street, the Truth and the Life.
Wake up, Minister of Christ, because the souls that
God has put in your hands don't end in those of Satan. The astuteness of the
ministers of the darkness is spreading, and only who is well grabbed to Christ
succeeds in discovering it. This art knows how to mask very well it, and it
sometimes manifests as if operates good because you don't have to take care of
it.
Open your eyes and don’t sleep, because if the
grace of God won't have taken full possession of you, also you could be linked
to the chains of its malefic powers, and you could easily forget to be
Minister of God. This astuteness infiltrates it in the weak spirits,
transporting them with the feeling and the imagination, and meanwhile the time
passes and the rendering draws near.
If the souls of your children go to the hell because
you, for lack of internal life, of spirit of sacrifice, of humility, have
taken care of them very little, how can you have the peace of the heart?
The harvest, it is true, is a lot and the workers are
few, but if that few, instead of curing the harvest look for a calm living,
worrying themselves about their own health, of the material affairs instead of
speaking clearly to the souls, those lose themselves.
It is not the number of the Priests that converts,
but it is the quality, that is the degree of holiness that one possesses.
When Jesus walked along the roads all they followed
him. This way is also of the Saints, because holiness appears on the face, and
puts the souls in condition of asking for suggestions and recoveries.
The prayer of the Saint is the prayer of Christ on
earth and therefore powerful.
We walk on the tracks of them who have walked before
us, with their burdens and problems, but with the soul in elevated state of
grace.
Ask therefore to the Lord the grace to become Saint
and the souls to you submitted will follow you as the sheep follow the
Shepherd without work and without fear.
