Letter for the Group of Prayer

Virgo Potens

October 2004

Dear Friends,

I am happy to turn to you every month a good word in the name of Jesus. They are simple words but full of love for you. I know that you listen gladly to them, and that they go down in your heart as an early-morning dew. Your souls are all beautiful ones, shining of goodness and of divine light. You are a good ground, and you welcome gladly the word of God and you do it produce fruit.

His word in fact, even if goes out of the heart of a creature, is always sweet, and it is stronger than all the doctrines of the philosophers and the wise of this world.

God, who taught the Prophets in the antiquity, talks today still to the heart of every man that humbly puts  in listening. Jesus says in fact: Here I am at the door, and I knock: if someone listens to my voice and the door opens me, I will come to him, I will dine with him and he with Me. The winner I will do him sit near Me, on my throne, as I have won and I have sat down near my Father on His throne(Ap 3, 20-21). If one loves me, he will observe my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and we will take abode near him (Gv 14, 23).

How beautiful it is to possess God, and to love Him gladly! With Him everything succeeds easier in the life, and every thing is less painful even if bathed by bitter tears. With God doesn't exist sadness, anguish, and there won't be never above all of us the desperation, but only comfort and hope of a future Heaven. Jesus, that lives in our souls, feels the pulsations of our heart, he sees all the good feelings, our anxieties, worries and pains. He picks up all and hides it in His Most Holy Heart. This comforts us and encourages us to continue our life of sacrifice, of renouncement, of goodness, of donation, and of trust that the things will change in a best future.

If we possess God we don't have to fear what could happen in the life, because anything happens, good or bad, it is already foreseen by Him for our own good. Let’s have therefore faith in Him, because He will never abandon us. Even if all abandoned us, He will be always close to us to listen to our moans and our request. He is near above all to those who suffer, because in them He sees Himself crucified.

It is said in the Sacred Writing: even if I were in a dark valley I won’t have to fear some evil, because God is with me, and He gives me safety and serenity. This the Saints have understood, and they have treasured every word of God. With sum determination they have always looked for it, and after having found they have not separated anymore from Him. This may be for us motive of incitement to the good every day more and more.

Unfortunately in the world many are more prepared and fervent in following what brings to the perdition, rather than in looking for what assures the eternal happiness. For a futile profit they make enormous sacrifices, but to purchase the Heaven they don't even move a footstep. They are deaf, mute and hard of heart, and they reject the voice of God. They listen more gladly to the world and its noises, and they follow more easily the appetites and the desires of the flash rather than God's law. They don't understand that the world promises and offers vain things that last shortly. They become crazy racing behind to a Singer, to famous Men, and they close their eyes, ears and heart instead when they feel that God calls them to the eternal realities.

We are Instead, His favorite friends, sensitive to His Love. Let's turn him therefore this humble prayer: Lord my God, You are all my good. Remember me that I am void, and nothing I possess. Only you are good, correct and holy. Everything you can and everything comes from You. Remember me in Your mercy, and fill my heart with Your Grace. Do never dissuade Your look from me, and don’t delay with Your visit, so that my soul may not become an arid earth and without life. Lord, teach me to love you, and to always complete Your Holy Will. You know all about me, and you know me in the intimate of my heart. Don't allow that I separate me from You, but do that, finished this earthly run, I can come among Your arms to enjoy forever the endless joy. Amen.

With the best wishes of holiness, I bless you and regard of heart, while I am assuring you all my daily prayer in front of Most Holy Jesus and during the Holy Mass.

Your faithfully
